Bio
Rebecca Johnson has over 25 years of work experience in various industries. Early on, she learned the art of answering professional phone calls and office tasks, from her father, who was a contractor working from home. She had her "business" at the age of 13, when she took up babysitting. With her gift of working with children, she went to college to be a Social Worker. She worked in that industry for 12 years, and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Rebecca spent her early career working with children in the mental health system, foster care and within the school districts.
At 20 she met Jason, whom she fell in love with. Not long into their dating relationship, Jason developed cancer, and soon after they were married developed a secondary leukemia that eventually took his life. Rebecca spent her late 20's as a young widow, finding comfort in working with kids at a local school.
By 2004, she had met her now husband, Dan, who helped her waken the entrepreneurial spirit within her. Together, they have birthed several businesses and continue to feed the bug that is "working for yourself". It is so liberating!
While she loved working with people, Rebecca also had the natural gift for marketing and event planning, and expanded her resume to include owning three businesses, allowing her to exercises her entrepreneurial spirit and expand her skill set; Cerberus Protection Services (a security guard firm in Sacramento, CA) Get Networking Now! (a local networking group) and My Social Media Pro (a specialty marketing service). During this time, she also built a reputation in the greater Sacramento area for event planning abilities and promotional skills. You can see her projects and events here.
With her vast experience, management and leadership abilities, education, and her dedication to helping small businesses, and the community, Rebecca is dedicated to using her gifts to help others.
In 2014 she made a shift in her career, focusing on Senior Care. Rebecca's personal experience with taking care of an elderly family member for nearly 10 years, and her willingness to expand her horizons, she entered the world of marketing senior in home care and placement services to the Greater Sacramento and surrounding communities.
In 2015, Rebecca and her husband Dan entered into a new world at home: Foster Parenting. They are currently a licensed family through the county of Sacramento and have opened their doors for temporary and emergency placement. Not long after licensing, they were placed with a 3 day old baby, who is now their adoptive son. They have had 12 foster placements in 3 years, and are currently on hiatus, hoping to return in the near future.
Rebecca is a busy woman, but does what most mom's do, and work hard to keep everything running. In her "spare" time, you will probably see her sharing a project, a tip or wrangling in her community to help someone in need.
